Side Effects of Zalcitabine
During extensive clinical trials studying the side effects of zalcitabine, unusual sensations (like numbness, burning, or tingling) were reported the most often. Other common side effects included nausea, fatigue, and headaches. Some side effects of zalcitabine should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider, including unusual bruising or bleeding, seizures, and frequent infections.
Side Effects of Zalcitabine: An Introduction
As with any medicine, side effects are possible with
zalcitabine (
Hivid®). However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with zalcitabine. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of zalcitabine side effects with you.)
