Trichimoniasis

Trichomoniasis is a very common sexually transmitted infection. It is caused by the Trichomonas vaginalis parasite and most often occurs in the vagina in women and the urethra in men. Although most infected individuals do not have symptoms, potential symptoms include painful urination; discomfort during sex; thin, whitish discharge (in men); and heavy, yellow-green or gray discharge (in women). Treatment for trichomoniasis typically involves a single dose of the medication metronidazole.
