More Details on Drug Interactions With Syeda

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative reactions that can occur when Syeda is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

ACE Inhibitors and Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs)
Combining Syeda with ACE inhibitors or ARBs can increase the risk for high potassium levels in your blood (hyperkalemia). Your healthcare provider should check your potassium levels regularly while you are taking Syeda, particularly during the first cycle you use it.

Aminoglutethimide
Aminoglutethimide can make Syeda less effective, possibly increasing your risk for pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider before using these drugs together. You may need to use a backup method of contraception, such as condoms.

Antibiotics
There have been reports of accidental pregnancy occurring in women taking birth control pills with certain antibiotics. However, the significance of this interaction is still uncertain. It is known that rifampin (Rifadin®) and minocycline (Minocin®) can make Syeda less effective. If you are taking an antibiotic, ask your healthcare provider if you need to use a backup method of contraception.

Aprepitant
Aprepitant can make Syeda less effective, perhaps increasing your chance of pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider before using these medications together. You may need to use a backup method of contraception.

Atorvastatin
Atorvastatin may increase the level of Syeda in your blood, which may increase your risk for Syeda side effects. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Barbiturates
Barbiturates may cause your body to metabolize the hormones in Syeda too quickly, possibly increasing your risk for pregnancy. Ask your healthcare provider if you should use a different method of contraception while taking a barbiturate.
