Vestura Birth Control Information

Available by prescription only, VesturaTM (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol) is a type of birth control pill that is approved to treat acne in women who also want to prevent pregnancy. It works by stopping ovulation, changing the lining of the uterus, and altering the cervical mucus. Vestura is a generic version of Yaz®.
 
This contraceptive comes in a pack containing 28 pills, including 24 active pills and 4 inactive pills that do not contain any active ingredients. Take each pill by mouth once a day, at the same time each day. It's important to take Vestura consistently, as missing doses can increase your risk of pregnancy.
