Myzilra Birth Control Information

MyzilraTM (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill. This contraceptive is a type of triphasic birth control pill, which means it contains three different "phases" of pills in each pack. It prevents pregnancy by stopping ovulation, changing the lining of the uterus, and altering the cervical mucus. Myzilra is a generic version of Triphasil®.

It is important to take your pills in order. Also, make sure to take Myzilra consistently, as missing doses can increase your risk of pregnancy. Possible side effects include acne, nausea, and breakthrough bleeding.

Before starting Myzilra, the safety information for this birth control pill should be reviewed with your healthcare provider. Because this contraceptive is not suitable for everyone, your healthcare provider needs to be aware of all other medications you are taking and any medical conditions you have, such as high cholesterol, depression, or migraines.
