Caziant Birth Control Information

CaziantTM (desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill that is designed to prevent pregnancy. It is a generic version of the brand-name oral contraceptive Cyclessa®. The medication comes in tablet form and should be taken every day, preferably at the same time each day. It works primarily by stopping ovulation, but has other effects that help prevent a woman from becoming pregnant.

Prior to taking Caziant, information your healthcare provider needs includes a complete medical history, as well as a detailed list of all medicines you are taking, including nonprescription products and herbal supplements. Caziant can react with certain drugs, and some women should not take this form of birth control, so your healthcare provider needs this information to make sure this drug is right for you.
