Camrese Birth Control Information

Available by prescription only, CamreseTM (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is an extended-cycle birth control pill. This means that you will only get your period once every three months (four times a year). It is approved for preventing pregnancy, and works by stopping ovulation, changing the lining of the uterus, and altering the cervical mucus. Camrese is a generic version of Seasonique®.

This contraceptive comes in a pack containing 91 pills. Take each pill by mouth once a day, at the same time each day. It's important to take Camrese consistently, as missing doses can increase your risk of pregnancy. Side effects may include headaches, breast tenderness, and breakthrough bleeding or spotting.

Before starting Camrese, the safety information for this birth control pill should be reviewed with your healthcare provider. This contraceptive is not suitable for everyone, so tell your healthcare provider about all of your current medications and any medical conditions you have, such as migraines, depression, or diabetes.
