Aviane
® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a generic version of
Alesse®, a type of
birth control pill. Each pack of this
oral contraceptive contains 28 pills. The standard dose is one pill taken daily, at the same time each day.
Following the dosing guidelines is very important -- not doing so could result in unintended pregnancy. If you are unsure what to do if you miss any pills, talk to your healthcare provider.
Although most women are able to use this birth control pill without any problems, side effects are possible. For example, women taking Aviane could experience:
- Acne
- Nausea
- Breast tenderness.
