Rilpivirine

Rilpivirine is used in combination with other medications to treat HIV and AIDS. This prescription medicine helps to stop the spread of HIV to uninfected cells in the body. It comes in the form of a tablet that is taken once daily. Although most people tolerate this medicine well, side effects may occur and can include headaches, a rash, and depression.

What Is Rilpivirine?

Rilpivirine (Edurant™) is a prescription medicine used as a treatment for HIV and AIDS. It is an oral medication that is taken just once a day. Rilpivirine should not be used by itself; it is approved for use only in combination with other HIV medications.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, rilpivirine may cause side effects.
 However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
