Rilpivirine (
Edurant™) is a prescription medicine used as a
treatment for HIV and
AIDS. It is an oral medication that is taken just once a day. Rilpivirine should not be used by itself; it is approved for use only in combination with other
HIV medications.
Just like any medicine, rilpivirine may cause side effects.
However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
