Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo® is a prescription birth control pill. The combined oral contraceptive, which contains both estrogen and progestin, works by stopping ovulation. It also changes the cervical mucus and alters the lining of the uterus. Each pack of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo contains 28 pills that must be taken in order. Common side effects include headache, nausea, and bleeding or spotting between periods.
