Ortho-Cyclen? Orthocyclen is a common misspelling of Ortho-Cyclen.
Ortho-Cyclen® is a brand-name birth control pill that is available by prescription. It is a combined oral contraceptive, which means that it contains both estrogen and progestin, hormones that prevent pregnancy primarily by stopping ovulation.
The 28 tablets in each pack of Ortho-Cyclen must be taken in order and at the same time each day. Taking this drug consistently helps reduce the chances of accidentally becoming pregnant. As with any medication, side effects are possible with this form of birth control and may include vomiting, breakthrough bleeding, and headaches.
