Ortho-Cyclen® is a brand-name birth control pill that is available by prescription. It is a combined oral contraceptive, which means that it contains both estrogen and progestin, hormones that prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation. The 28 tablets in each pack of Ortho-Cyclen must be taken in order, at the same time each day. Side effects of Ortho-Cyclen may include vomiting, breakthrough bleeding, and headaches.
