Modicon Warnings and Precautions

It is a good idea to discuss Modicon warnings and precautions with your healthcare provider prior to taking the birth control pill. Modicon: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should check with your healthcare provider prior to using Modicon^® (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

High cholesterol
Chest pain (angina)
A clotting disorder or have ever had a blood clot
Had a heart attack or stroke
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Gallbladder disease
Had yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice) during a prior pregnancy or oral contraceptive use
Liver disease, such as liver failure, cirrhosis, hepatitis, or liver tumors
Diabetes
Depression
Migraines or other severe headaches
Cancer (or if you have had cancer in the past)
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Any allergies, including allergies to dyes, foods, or preservatives.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you:

Smoke cigarettes
Have an upcoming surgery
Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
Are breastfeeding.

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
