Minastrin 24 Fe Dosage

For women taking Minastrin 24 Fe, the standard dose is one tablet a day. The first 24 tablets in each pack contain the active ingredients. The last four tablets do not have any active ingredients; they give your body a break from the hormones, allowing you to have a period. Because missing doses increases your risk of pregnancy, take each tablet at the same time each day.

An Introduction to Dosing With Minastrin 24 Fe

There is only one standard dose of Minastrin™ 24 Fe (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol). As always, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Minastrin 24 Fe Dosage for Birth Control

Starting at the beginning of the pack, take one tablet at the same time each day. Each pack will last for four weeks (28 days). After you finish one pack, immediately start a new one the next day. Do not let any days pass between packs (this may take a little planning, as you will need a new pack on hand).

When you take Minastrin 24 Fe for the first time, you can start it either on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts. If you start Minastrin 24 Fe on the first day of your period (a "day 1 start"), you do not need to use any backup contraception. If you choose a Sunday start, you need to use a backup method of contraception, such as condoms, for the first week. If the first day of your period happens to be on a Sunday, treat this as a day 1 start (no backup needed).
