Before taking Microgestin Fe, precautions and warnings for the drug should be reviewed with your healthcare provider. For example, this form of contraception can make some health conditions worse, such as gallbladder disease, high blood pressure, and depression. Precautions and warnings with Microgestin Fe also extend to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who have certain allergies.

Microgestin Fe: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

  • A smoker
  • Over 35 years old
  • Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 
(Microgestin Fe is a generic version of Loestrin® Fe and is also equivalent to Junel Febirth control pills. The information in this article also applies to both of these medications.)
