Vestura is a type of birth control pill used to treat acne in women who also want to prevent pregnancy. It is a generic medication equivalent to Yaz. The medication works by stopping ovulation, altering the cervical mucus, and changing the lining of the uterus. Possible side effects include vomiting, vaginal bleeding, and nausea.
What Is Vestura?Vestura™ (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol) is an oral contraceptive (birth control pill) that is approved for the following uses:
- Preventing pregnancy
- Treating acne in women who also desire contraception.
Are There Side Effects?Just like any medicine, Vestura may cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the contraceptive will experience problems. In fact, most women tolerate it quite well.
- Breast pain
- Upper respiratory infections, such as the common cold
- Vaginal yeast infections
- Vaginal discharge
- Nausea or vomiting.
