STD Home > Pediatric and Off-Label Indications for Heather

Can Children and Teens Use It?

Heather is approved for use in women of reproductive age. This means that it is not approved for use in girls who have not yet had their first menstrual period.

Are There Off-Label Reasons to Use Heather?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Heather for something other than contraception. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, off-label uses of Heather include the treatment of the following conditions:

  • Heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Painful menstrual periods.
