What If I Overdose on Generess Fe?

Women who take too much of any birth control pill may experience the following symptoms:
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Other menstrual irregularities.
(Click Generess Fe Overdose for more information.)

How Should This Medicine Be Stored?

Keep Generess Fe tablets in their original package. The packaging is designed to help you remember to take the tablets each day and to take the tablets in the right order. Keep the package at room temperature, away from moisture or heat.
Keep Generess Fe (and all other medications) out of the reach of children, especially because it contains iron; iron overdoses can be dangerous in children.

What If I Forget a Dose?

Missing doses of Generess Fe increases the risk of pregnancy. What you should do depends on how many tablets you have missed and where exactly you are in your cycle (see Generess Fe Dosage). If you are not sure what to do, refer to the patient information that comes with each pack of Generess Fe, or consult your healthcare provider.

Available Strengths

Generess Fe comes in a package with 28 tablets. The first 24 tablets each contain 0.8 mg of norethindrone and 25 mcg (0.025 mg) of ethinyl estradiol. The last 4 tablets do not contain any hormones, but they do contain 75 mg of ferrous fumarate (iron) per tablet. The tablets are spearmint flavored.

Can I Buy Generic Generess Fe?

Generess Fe is not available in a generic version (see Generic Generess Fe for more information).
