Aviane (a generic version of Alesse) is a prescription birth control pill. The hormones in it prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, changing the cervical mucus, and altering the lining of the uterus. The drug comes in tablet form and is taken once a day. Nausea, breast tenderness, and headaches are some of the most common side effects of this medication.
What Is Aviane?Aviane® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription oral contraceptive (commonly known as a birth control pill). The drug is a generic version of Alesse®.
Possible Side EffectsAs with any medicine, side effects are possible with Aviane. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
