Levlite Warnings and Precautions

There is a lot of information to be aware of before using Levlite. Warnings and precautions include watching out for potential drug interactions, avoiding Levlite if you have heart disease, and knowing what to do if you miss any doses. It is also important to know that Levlite may increase the risk of benign liver tumors, blood clots, heart attacks, and strokes.

 

Levlite: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Levlite® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.

You should also be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 
(Levlite is equivalent to Lessina® and Spronyxbirth control pills. The information in this article also applies to both of these medications.)
