An Overview of Levlite Overdose
Levlite® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a
birth control pill that is available only with a prescription. The effects of a Levlite overdose are usually not dangerous; however, they may vary depending on a number of factors, including the
Levlite dosage and whether it was taken with any other substances, medications, or street drugs.
If you happen to overdose on Levlite, seek medical attention immediately.
(Levlite is equivalent to Lessina® and Spronyx™ birth control pills. The information in this article also applies to both of these medications.)
Levlite Overdose Symptoms
No serious problems have been reported in cases where children accidentally took large doses of birth control pills. Just as with any birth control pill, an overdose with Levlite may cause nausea and vomiting. In females (even young girls), an overdose of Levlite may cause vaginal bleeding or other menstrual changes.
Treatment for a Levlite Overdose
It is not known how best to treat a Levlite overdose. Therefore, treatment (if necessary) will involve supportive care, which consists of treating the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. In many cases, treatment may not be necessary, although medical attention is still necessary to rule out any problems.
Even though a Levlite overdose is unlikely to cause serious problems, it is important that you seek medical attention immediately if you believe that you or someone else may have overdosed on Levlite.
