Drug Interactions With Kurvelo
Some antibiotics, barbiturates, and seizure medications can interact with Kurvelo. Many of these reactions can reduce the effectiveness of Kurvelo, possibly increasing the chance of unintentional pregnancy. To help reduce your risk, tell your healthcare provider about all other products you are taking, including vitamins, herbal supplements, and prescription and nonprescription medications.
Kurvelo® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) may react with a number of other products. In some cases, these interactions can be severe enough to increase the risk of unintentional pregnancy, in which case a backup method of birth control is usually recommended. If you do not know what to do about any particular Kurvelo drug interaction, it is a good idea to use a backup birth control method until you can speak with your healthcare provider.
Some of the drugs that can react with Kurvelo include but are not limited to:
- Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
- Aprepitant (Emend®)
- Barbiturate medications, such as:
