Generess Fe Warnings and Precautions

Make sure your healthcare provider knows if you have certain health conditions, such as depression, chest pain, or high blood pressure, before starting Generess Fe. Warnings and precautions also include watching out for potential drug interactions and avoiding the contraceptive if you have a clotting disorder, liver disease, or coronary artery disease. Generess Fe may also increase your risk for heart attacks, blood clots, or strokes.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Although
 birth control pills are a convenient and effective method of birth control, they are not safe for all women. You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking Generess™ Fe (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:
 
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.
 
You should also tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
