Who Should Not Take Efavirenz?

You should not take efavirenz if you:
 
  • Are allergic to efavirenz sulfate, Sustiva, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive components.
     
  • Take certain medications that can interact dangerously with efavirenz (see Drug Interactions With Efavirenz).
