Depo-Provera Shot Side Effects

In clinical trials, a number of people using Depo-Provera® (medroxyprogesterone intramuscular injection) reported certain negative reactions. Depo-Provera, like any other medication, can cause side effects. Some of the most common problems that have been reported with this drug include irregular menstrual bleeding, weight gain, and headaches.
 
This medication has also been reported to cause a number of potentially dangerous complications. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you are receiving Depo-Provera shots and experience side effects such as vision or speech changes, coughing up blood, or difficulty breathing. This drug may also cause seizures and depression.
