Depo-Provera and High Blood Pressure

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have a history of
high blood pressure (hypertension) before using Depo-Provera® (medroxyprogesterone intramuscular injection). People who have high blood pressure may not be able to safely use this medicine. Depo-Provera is approved to prevent pregnancy or relieve symptoms caused by endometrial or kidney cancer.

It is particularly important to have an annual healthcare exam while using Depo-Provera. Make sure to keep all of your appointments with your healthcare provider. He or she will want to check your blood pressure, and may also recommend other tests, such as a mammogram and pelvic exam if you are a woman.
