Depo-Provera and Hair Loss

Although it is not a common side effect of
 Depo-Provera® (medroxyprogesterone intramuscular injection), hair loss may occur while using this drug. Depo-Provera is a prescription medicine used to prevent pregnancy and relieve certain symptoms of kidney or endometrial cancer.
 
In clinical studies, between 1 and 5 percent of people noticed hair loss or lack of hair growth while using Depo-Provera. If you are concerned about losing hair while using this medication, talk to your healthcare provider to discuss your options.
