Cryselle

Cryselle is a generic birth control pill that is only available by prescription. It is a combined oral contraceptive (containing both estrogen and progestin) that works by stopping ovulation and altering the cervical mucus and endometrium. Cryselle tablets must be taken once daily, at the same time each day. Although most women tolerate the pill well, potential side effects include nausea, breast tenderness, and headache.

 

What Is Cryselle?

Cryselle® (norgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription oral contraceptive, also known as a birth control pill, or simply "the pill." It is a generic version of Lo/Ovral®.

Side Effects of Cryselle

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Cryselle. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of Cryselle include but are not limited to:
 
  • Nausea (with or without vomiting)
  • Acne
  • Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods
  • Breast tenderness
  • Headaches.
