Drug Interactions With Briellyn

Protease inhibitors, modafinil, and selegiline are among the medications known to react with Briellyn. Drug interactions with this birth control pill can increase your risk of side effects; they can make also make Briellyn less effective, which increases your risk of pregnancy. If you are in doubt about a particular interaction, use a backup form of birth control until you can talk to your doctor.

An Introduction to Briellyn Interactions

Briellyn™ (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) can potentially react with several other medicines. Sometimes, these interactions can be severe enough to lead to unintentional pregnancy. In such situations, a backup method of birth control (such as condoms) may be required. Some of the drugs that may lead to interactions with Briellyn include:
 
  • Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
  • Antibiotics
  • Aprepitant (Emend®)
  • Barbiturate medications, such as:
