Precautions and Warnings With Balziva

To help minimize potential risks and complications, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about the precautions and warnings with Balziva before using this form of contraception. This birth control pill should be used cautiously in people who have heart problems, gallbladder disease, or depression (as Balziva can make these conditions worse). You should not take Balziva if you have heart disease or a blood clotting disorder.

 

Balziva: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Balziva™ (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
