Side Effects of Atazanavir

Abdominal pain, nausea, headaches, and vomiting are some of the most common side effects of atazanavir. Typically, these side effects are minor and either don't require medical attention or can be easily treated. However, some atazanavir side effects should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately, including an irregular heart rhythm, yellowing of the eyes or skin, and depression.

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with atazanavir sulfate (Reyataz®); however, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
