Who Should Not Take Abacavir?

You should not take abacavir if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Ziagen, abacavir sulfate, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive components.
     
  • Have moderate or severe liver disease.
